We had a wonderful celebration observing Grace Lutheran Church’s 110th Anniversary. We had special guests from our past and from the NTNL Senate attend. The Service was also on All Saint’s Sunday so we were able to light candles and remember those who are no longer with us in this world.
After the service we had a luncheon which included several varieties of Swedish food which was enjoyed by everyone.
Below is a picture of the members and guests who were present on this Great and Glorious day!
Pastor’s MessageMending the Heart: There is a final chapter in the book we are reading that will form the basis of a final Mending the Heart gathering. This third session(s) will be a bit different from the first two. We will not be meeting in small groups like we did for chapters 1 & 2. Rather we will remain in the sanctuary immediately following worship on August 2 and maybe August 9 for a time of share our thoughts on the third chapter entitled The Wound of Grief – When We Have Been Hurt by Loss.” Loss is a topic we all eventually share in common –all of us have suffered loss in one form of the other. This is an opportunity to unpack some of the feelings we may have about loss and grief -- emotions we may have stuffed deep inside our hearts and souls. On a personal level … I need this! And it’s my guess … so do MOST of you. So please plan on participating in this time to sharing our hurts and sufferings. It TRULY can go a long way in mending a heart! PEACE, Pastor Bill Wrieden
